Job Title: Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist - Iraq

We are seeking a highly skilled Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) to join our team in Baghdad, Iraq. As a CRNA, you will be responsible for administering anesthetics to patients undergoing medical, dental, and surgical procedures.

Responsibilities:
  • Perform pre-anesthetic screenings, including physical evaluations, patient interviews, and document results.
  • Develop, recommend, and implement standard operating instructions and practices pertaining to the administration and management of anesthetics that ensure client safety, confidentiality, and timely ethical and quality service.
  • Select and prescribe post-anesthesia medications or treatments to patients.
  • Administer post-anesthesia medications or fluids to support patients' cardiovascular systems.
  • Evaluate patients' post-surgical or post-anesthesia responses, taking appropriate corrective actions or requesting consultation if complications occur.
  • Monitor the effects of specific anesthesia, drugs, techniques, and patient reactions.
  • Select, order, or administer pre-anesthetic medications, anesthetics, adjuvant drugs, accessory drugs, fluids or blood products as necessary.
  • Discharge patients from post-anesthesia care.
  • Perform or evaluate the results of diagnostic tests such as radiographs (x-rays) and electrocardiograms (EKGs).
  • Manage patients' airway or pulmonary status using techniques such as endotracheal intubation, mechanical ventilation, pharmacological support, respiratory therapy, and extubation.
  • Monitor patients' responses, including skin color, pupil dilation, pulse, heart rate, blood pressure, respiration, ventilation, or urine output, using invasive and noninvasive techniques.
  • Assess patients' medical histories to predict anesthesia response.
  • Select, prepare, or use equipment, monitors, supplies, or drugs for the administration of anesthetics. Calibrate and test anesthesia equipment.
  • Insert arterial catheters or perform arterial punctures to obtain arterial blood samples.
  • Insert peripheral or central intravenous catheters.
  • Instruct staff on topics such as anesthetic techniques, pain management and emergency responses.
  • Request anesthesia equipment repairs, adjustments, or safety tests.
  • Maintain continuing education activities.
  • Comply with all applicable Acuity International standards and guidelines.
  • Participate and advise in Mass Casualty Exercises/Events.
Requirements:
  • Must have completed an accredited Nursing training program leading to a diploma, certification, or bachelor's degree.
  • Must have completed an accredited Nurse Anesthetist school in the US resulting in a diploma or master's degree.
  • Must have a minimum of 3 years of experience as a licensed Nurse Anesthetist.
  • Must hold and maintain a current unrestricted U.S. (State) Medical license as a Nurse Anesthetist.
  • Must hold a current certification by the National Board of Certification and Recertification for Nurse Anesthetists (NBCRBA).
