The City of Angleton is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented individual to fill the role of Deputy Clerk in our Municipal Court. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring the smooth operation of our court proceedings.
Key Responsibilities- Customer Service: Provide courteous and professional service to the public, responding to inquiries and resolving issues in a timely and efficient manner.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of court cases, including case status, court orders, and arraignments.
- Data Entry: Accurately enter data into our database, including citations, complaints, and other court-related documents.
- Cash Handling: Process cash bond payments and other financial transactions, maintaining accurate records and balancing the cash drawer.
- Communication: Effectively communicate with defendants, jurors, and other stakeholders, providing clear and concise information about court proceedings and deadlines.
- Organizational Skills: Demonstrate strong organizational skills, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple projects simultaneously.
- Technical Skills: Possess working knowledge of Microsoft Office and accurate keyboarding skills, with the ability to type by touch.
- Education: High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required.
- Experience: Two (2) years of general business and clerical experience required, with one (1) year of cashier/teller experience or similar public-facing role preferred.
- Certifications: Texas Class C Driver's License in good standing.
This role is typically performed in an office setting with a low to moderate noise level. The ideal candidate will be able to work in a fast-paced, high-stress environment and maintain confidentiality in handling sensitive information.
