Job Description

Ryder System is seeking a dedicated SOLO Class A CDL Driver to join our team in Tumwater, WA. As a Ryder Driver, you will be responsible for delivering freight to Seattle, WA, and Portland, OR, while enjoying a local home daily route.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensuring compliance with federal and state laws, regulations, and agency rules
  • Detecting and eliminating or minimizing safety hazards
  • Loading/unloading freight or assisting in the loading/unloading of freight if required by the customer
  • Performing other duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • Minimum 21 years of age
  • Pass a Ryder drug test
  • Pass a Ryder background and motor vehicle check, including drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years
  • Pass a DOT physical
  • Pass a Ryder road test
  • Provide appropriate CDL and endorsements for the position
  • Must have Class A verifiable experience in a tractor trailer or comparable vehicle
  • Ability to follow written and/or oral instructions
  • Ability to read, interpret, and apply laws, rules, regulations, policies, and/or procedures

Benefits:

  • Weekly guarantee of 40 hours
  • Hourly pay: $30.00 per hour
  • Hours per week: 45 or more hours per week
  • Paid training
  • Schedule: Monday – Friday, no weekends
  • Start time: 4:00 AM - 5:00 AM

Equipment:

  • Tractor type: Day cab, no auto restriction
  • Trailer type: Dry van, 28', 40', and 48'
  • Equipment: Electric pallet jack and lift gate
  • Freight: Touch – load and unload pallets of paint
  • Endorsements: Hazmat, within 90 days of hire
