Job Description

Dynavac is seeking a skilled Welder/Fabricator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in welding stainless steel and aluminum for the fabrication of large industrial machinery. You will be responsible for producing high-quality work according to blueprints, job specifications, and verbal instruction. Your skills in brazing and various arc and gas welding equipment will be essential in this role.

We offer competitive compensation and benefits, including a bonus plan. As a fabricator, you may be required to travel to customer sites to provide technical support for production, equipment operations, repair, and maintenance.

Dynavac is an engineering and manufacturing company that builds custom high vacuum process capital equipment for various applications, including aerospace testing and thin film coatings. Our work orders are project-based, unique, and range in size and scope from $50,000 to $5 million. Typical systems require a broad range of technical disciplines, including design and fabrication of medium to large-scale pressure vacuum vessels, design and assembly of complex mechanisms and material-handling systems, and field integration of shop-built components.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Weld metal parts together using gas welding or brazing and various arc welding processes.
  • Perform related tasks, such as thermal cutting and grinding.
  • Repair broken or cracked parts, fill holes, and increase the size of metal parts.
  • Position and clamp together components of fabricated metal products preparatory to welding.
  • May locate and repair cracks in industrial products using inspection equipment and a gas torch.

Requirements:

  • High School diploma or equivalent; vocational school preferred.
  • Minimum five years' experience in various forms of welding.
  • Willingness to participate in a team-oriented environment.

Working Conditions/Physical Demands:

  • Must be able to wear safety shoes, goggles, hoods with protective lenses, and other PPE designed to prevent injuries.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand. The employee frequently is required to use hand to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls and climb or balance. The employee is occasionally required to walk; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear.
  • The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to vibration. The employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts and in high, precarious places and is occasionally exposed to risk of electrical shock.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually very loud.
