Job Summary

This part-time position assists with the preparation, setup, and cleanup of biological science laboratories. The successful candidate will work under the supervision of the lab manager to ensure a safe and efficient laboratory environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with the preparation of labs, including setting up equipment and materials.
  • Prepare chemical solutions and media, including calculating concentrations and measuring ingredients.
  • Return the lab to its original condition after each use, including cleaning and sanitizing surfaces and supplies.
  • Assist with maintaining inventory of laboratory supplies and equipment.
  • Dispose of waste materials properly and maintain a safe and clean laboratory environment.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree or equivalent combination of experience and education.
  • Three or more years of functional experience in a science laboratory setting, including hazardous material training.
  • Operational knowledge and understanding in area of responsibility (biology, microbiology, zoology, botany).
  • Intermediate knowledge of computer systems, including Microsoft Office products.

Salary Range

$15.55/hour (Hourly rate commensurate with education and experience)
