Job Title: Organist

We are seeking a skilled and experienced organist to join our parish team. As an organist, you will be responsible for providing sacred music during Masses, weddings, and other special events.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Play the organ during Masses, weddings, and other special events
  • Select and prepare music for services, including preludes, postludes, and hymn accompaniments
  • Work with the music director and pastor to plan and coordinate music for services
  • Maintain the parish's musical instruments, including the organ and piano
  • Attend rehearsals and meetings as needed
Requirements:
  • Proficiency in playing the organ
  • Excellent music sight-reading skills
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • One year's experience as a liturgical organist/accompanist
Physical Demands:

The organist will be required to be present in the parish on a regular basis, including weekends and holidays. The position may also require occasional travel to attend meetings or events.

The physical demands of this position include being able to lift and move up to 15 pounds, as well as being able to stand for long periods of time.
