Job Title: Insurance Coverage Attorney

We are seeking a highly skilled Insurance Coverage Attorney to join our team at Synectics. As an Insurance Coverage Attorney, you will play a critical role in analyzing complex insurance contracts, drafting insurance coverage opinions, and responding to regulatory inquiries.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Analyze insurance and reinsurance policies to identify potential risks and opportunities.
  • Draft insurance coverage opinions and respond to regulatory inquiries.
  • Interact and work on matters across the firm's footprint.
  • Communicate with clients and provide coverage recommendations.
  • Draft pleadings, motions, and written discovery.
  • Handle assigned caseload both independently and with supervision.
  • Perform extensive legal research.
  • Attend depositions, court appearances, and motion practice.
Qualifications:
  • Exceptional writing, research, and analytical skills.
  • Admitted to practice in the State of New York (PA, NJ, and/or CT admission is a plus).
  • Federal Court experience is a plus.
  • Ability to read and comprehend complex insurance contracts and assess the legal issues related to the contracts.
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in insurance coverage or similar insurance experience (reinsurance, regulatory).
  • Experience in insurance policy analysis, as well as written discovery, motions, and depositions.
  • Exceptional in other areas of the law should be highlighted and will be considered.
  • Litigation experience is a plus.
  • Requires a high level of motivation, flexibility, initiative, and accountability.
  • Ability to exercise good judgment in a variety of situations, with strong and professional communications skills, and be friendly and outgoing.
