Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Deputy Sheriff to join our team at Pender County, NC. As a Deputy Sheriff, you will be responsible for enforcing laws, maintaining public safety, and providing support to the community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Enforce traffic laws and regulations, issue citations, and perform radar enforcement.
  • Conduct security checks of homes, neighborhoods, and businesses, and respond to emergency calls.
  • Assist other law enforcement officers and agencies on various tasks, and provide support to the community.
  • Operate a patrol vehicle, and maintain a high level of physical fitness and agility.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate records and reports, and testify in court as needed.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent, and possession of Basic Law Enforcement Training certification.
  • Valid driver's license in the State of North Carolina, and ability to obtain a North Carolina driver license within 30 days of hire.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and maintain a high level of physical fitness and agility.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, and ability to work effectively with the public and other law enforcement agencies.
