Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Construction Manager to join our team at Johnson Controls. As a key member of our project delivery team, you will be responsible for managing the construction process of assigned projects, with a focus on lighting, water fixture, mechanical, and electrical retrofits.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain customer and subcontractor relationships
  • Manage project schedules, cost estimates, and construction activities
  • Oversee project construction for compliance with specifications, local codes, and construction techniques
  • Review and interpret contract terms and conditions
  • Monitor productivity and cost, and recommend changes to mitigate problems
  • Provide clear communications to customers and team members
  • Ensure project document controls are in compliance with contract requirements and JCI standards
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Project/Construction Management or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum 6 years of project management experience in the construction industry
  • Broad knowledge of commercial contractual terms and conditions
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to manage conceptual design and work with internal and external engineering teams
Preferred Qualifications
  • BAS Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Structural, or Civil Engineering
  • Construction management experience on energy retrofit projects
  • PMP, LEED certification, PEng designation
