Gate Inspector

The Gate Inspector is responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient movement of containers through the railroad facility. This involves inspecting containers for damage and completing necessary paperwork. Key responsibilities include:

• Inspecting containers for damage and ensuring all security seals are intact
• Maintaining accuracy of all trailer/container inspections
• Completing necessary paperwork and documentation
• Ensuring compliance with HAZMAT and OSHA regulations
• Maintaining clear communication with truck drivers
• Identifying non-operational terminal lanes

• Basic computer skills
• Documenting inspections
• Understanding HAZMAT and OSHA regulations

Candidates will be working inside and outside of the gatehouse. When things are slow, they will be doing paperwork inside the office. They will be working with one other inspector on their shift. Inspectors are required to wear Personal Protection Equipment (PPE), such as safety vest, safety glasses, steel-toed boots, and protective hard hat, when applicable. This is a 2nd shift position with hours from M-F 12-8pm.
