The After-school Teacher operates under general oversight to support the Afterschool program in executing the UFLI curriculum within the educational framework. This role involves interpreting the curriculum and ensuring that instructional methods align with educational objectives and district standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist students in preparing for standardized assessments.
- Develop lesson plans and implement the UFLI curriculum effectively.
- Monitor and evaluate student academic performance for signs of improvement.
- Provide mentorship and support to students.
- Foster positive relationships with school personnel, Program Manager, enrichment staff, and all Communities in Schools team members.
- Engage in regular meetings with the Program Manager and team to identify areas for improvement.
- Collaborate with the Program Manager to discuss student goals and needs.
- Coordinate and manage educational plans tailored for students.
Qualifications and Educational Requirements:
- Possession of a valid teaching certificate.
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
- Effective oral and written communication skills with administrators, educators, and parents.
- Familiarity with district and school board policies, procedures, and standards.
- A valid state-issued identification and/or driver's license, along with reliable transportation.
- Successful completion of Level II background screening.
The work environment can be dynamic and fast-paced, necessitating adaptability and attentiveness.
This is a part-time position, requiring approximately 5 to 20 hours of work per week, Monday through Friday.
