The Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Staff Auditor to join our team at USAA. As a dedicated member of our internal audit team, you will perform audit assignments, identify problems for resolution, and apply your knowledge of financial services regulations to ensure the highest level of quality and integrity in our operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute audit program assignments timely and professionally, with guidance and support from the Auditor-in-Charge (AIC), to support the annual audit plan and audit priorities.
  • Independently and accurately test basic business, application, and/or IT general controls (ITGC) to ensure the effectiveness of our risk management processes.
  • Identify control deficiencies in testing, discuss with Auditor-in-Charge (AIC) and/or Audit management, and initiate control improvement recommendations for assigned work.
  • Review, analyze, and interpret data collected from multiple sources to ensure valid conclusions are drawn during testing.
  • Attend and participate in team audit activities, such as planning and scoping, business understanding/walkthroughs, review of risk assessment and testing for assigned areas of responsibility, and demonstrate critical thinking ability.
  • Execute on audit documentation techniques, including key risks and controls alignment to audit test objectives and conclusions, and be accountable for completing own work paper documentation within quality standards.
  • Communicate effectively and share findings and audit reports with AIC, team members, and may present to business leaders.
  • Provide updates to the engagement level risk & control matrix and other audit documentation as deemed appropriate by AIC or team leadership.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business or relevant field such as Finance, Accounting, Business, or Information Technology.
  • Four additional years of related experience beyond minimum required may be substituted in lieu of a degree.
  • Experience applying audit, risk, or compliance acumen in a business/professional environment.
  • Internal Audit Experience, Human Resources Experience, or Large financial institution experience.

Compensation: USAA has an effective process for assessing market data and establishing ranges to ensure we remain competitive. You are paid within the salary range based on your experience and market data of the position. The actual salary for this role may vary by location. The salary range for this position is: $61,110 - $116,800.

Employees may be eligible for pay incentives based on overall corporate and individual performance and at the discretion of the USAA Board of Directors.
