About the RoleThis is a full-time position that involves working with individuals struggling with addiction. As an Addiction Therapist, you will be responsible for conducting thorough assessments, developing individualized treatment plans, and providing counseling sessions.
Key Responsibilities- Assessment and Treatment Planning:
- Conduct comprehensive assessments to understand the nature and extent of a client's addiction.
- Develop personalized treatment plans based on assessment results.
- Counseling and Therapy:
- Provide one-on-one and group counseling sessions.
- Utilize evidence-based practices to treat substance abuse disorders.
- Implement therapeutic interventions to help clients develop coping strategies and skills for recovery.
- Case Management:
- Monitor and document client progress.
- Adjust treatment plans as needed to meet clients' evolving needs.
- Coordinate with other healthcare providers, social workers, and support services.
- Education and Advocacy:
- Educate clients and their families about addiction and recovery.
- Advocate for clients' needs within the healthcare system and community resources.
- Crisis Intervention:
- Provide immediate support and intervention in crisis situations.
- Develop safety plans and strategies to prevent relapse.
- Administrative Duties:
- Maintain accurate and confidential client records.
- Prepare and submit required reports and documentation.
- Participate in team meetings and case conferences.
- Education:
- Bachelor's degree in psychology, social work, counseling, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
- Certification:
- Certified Addiction Specialist (CAS) or equivalent certification from a recognized body.
- Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in addiction counseling or a related field.
- Skills:
- Strong understanding of substance abuse disorders and treatment methodologies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Compassionate and non-judgmental attitude.
- $65,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on experience.
