We're seeking a full-time Veterinary Assistant to join our Healthcare Practice Team. What You'll Do:

  • Support your practice team in providing high-level, proficient veterinary support care and embodying the Chewy Vet Care culture.
  • Implement policies and procedures, using coordinated technology, and deliver consistent and appropriate medical care within your abilities.
  • Perform veterinary assistant skills to support practice veterinarians, including assistance with operating medical equipment and handling animal bodily fluids and tissues.
  • Demonstrate team support and care for others' work experiences.
  • Understand and follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Standards of Care (SOC).
  • Review invoices with clients and manage client payments.
  • Communicate clearly and respectfully with other team members, keeping veterinarians advised in real time on patient updates.
  • Be proficient using the PIMS and aid others on the team in their use of the technology.
  • Act responsibly given the pharmacy holdings of the practice and maintain controlled substance logs.
  • Assist practice manager with communicating on inventory needs.
  • Clean workspaces after every patient or patient lab sample interaction.
  • Participate in self-development courses and Chewy Vet Care required compliance training.
  • Perform related duties and assignments as advised by management.
  • May be required to work weekends, position may require some travel.
