Job Summary:

The Local Truck Delivery Driver is responsible for delivering and picking up customer tires and wheels while operating a truck with a capacity up to 26,000 pounds. This role requires safe driving, attention to detail, effective communication, and thoroughness to ensure customer orders are fulfilled efficiently and safely.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Operate a 26-foot truck and deliver commercial tires/wheels class 5 through 8, as well as other items to customers
  • Maintain a safe and clean driving record
  • Execute client delivery schedules, proper loading and unloading, and obtain signed paperwork
  • Assist supervisor with planning routes to ensure deliveries are completed in the most efficient manner
  • Review orders before and after delivery to ensure accuracy and customer satisfaction
  • Effectively communicate any traffic violations, accidents, breakdowns, or delays in route to management and customers
  • Accurately identify and enter tire casing information into electronic devices
  • Interact with Snider Fleet Solutions customers and personnel on a daily basis
  • Conduct pre and post trip inspections to ensure all mechanical systems are operating properly
  • Follow all safety rules, wear proper PPE, and demonstrate a safety-conscious mindset
  • Demonstrate excellent attendance, show up to work on time, and wear the correct uniform
  • Adhere to all policies, procedures, and values of Snider Fleet Solutions
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Must be at least 21 years old
  • Must have a clean driving record
  • Previous experience in a similar role or industry is a plus
  • Valid Class C Driver's License or state(s) equivalent and must be insurable to drive by company standards
  • DOT Medical Certification
  • Forklift certification (obtained after employment)
  • Commercial TIA certification preferred
Preferred Skills and Abilities:
  • Ability to pass background check and drug screen
  • Ability to work nights and weekends; overnight travel may be required
  • Demonstrate excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Ability to use road maps, smart phones, and GPS devices
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and time constraints
  • Must be able to work in a results-oriented fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Reliable and dependable with self-initiative
  • Safety conscious at all times
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, as well as close attention to detail
