Job Summary

The Chief Engineer is responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of all hotel equipment and facilities, while supporting the company's goals of guest satisfaction, cost control, and profitability. This role requires a high level of technical expertise, as well as strong leadership and communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Equipment Maintenance: Oversee the maintenance and repair of all hotel equipment, including HVAC systems, plumbing, and electrical systems.
  • Preventative Maintenance: Develop and implement a preventative maintenance program to ensure that all equipment is properly maintained and functioning correctly.
  • Staff Supervision: Supervise and train a team of engineers and maintenance staff to ensure that they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties effectively.
  • Budget Management: Manage the hotel's maintenance budget to ensure that expenses are kept under control.
  • Guest Satisfaction: Ensure that all guest rooms and public areas are clean, safe, and well-maintained.
  • Emergency Response: Respond to emergency situations, such as equipment failures or guest complaints, in a timely and effective manner.
Requirements:
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Experience: At least 5 years of progressive experience in a hotel or a related field.
  • Certifications: Current certification as required by Federal, State, or Local governing agents pertaining to trade requirements.
  • Skills: Strong technical expertise, leadership and communication skills, ability to work well under pressure.
