Job Description:

The Transportation Logistics Trainee role at US Foods, Inc. offers a unique opportunity for individuals to develop their skills in transportation and logistics. As a trainee, you will participate in a comprehensive training program that includes route completion and obtaining a CDL permit and Class A license.

You will have the chance to work with experienced drivers and trainers, learning all aspects of the job and developing excellent customer service skills. The role is designed to prepare you for a career in transportation and logistics, offering competitive compensation and benefits.

Responsibilities:
  • Attend 100% of all elements of the training program, actively participating in classroom exercises and hands-on instruction.
  • Maintain satisfactory feedback from instructors and driver/coaches during the classroom, yard skills, and on-the-road driving portion of the training program.
  • Assist designated US Foods drivers in route completion, learning all aspects of the job.
  • Enroll in CDL school and obtain a CDL permit license within the first 45 days of the training program.
  • Obtain a CDL Class A license within the 90 days of the training program.
  • Achieve defined performance expectations during the initial 90-day probationary period of the program.
Requirements:
  • Must be at least 21 years old.
  • Must be able to use or learn to use all equipment, including global positioning systems (GPS) used to perform the job.
  • Must be able to perform all job functions safely.
  • Must be able to work the scheduled/assigned times and required overtime for the position.
  • Must have excellent customer service skills.
Compensation and Benefits:

The estimated salary for this role is $22/hour, based on relevant experience and/or education, specific skills, function, geographic location, and other factors as applicable by law. Additionally, you may receive benefits such as health insurance, pre-tax spending accounts, retirement benefits, paid time off, short-term and long-term disability, employee stock purchase plan, and life insurance.
