Job Title: RN Intermediate Care

Sigma Healthcare is seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse Intermediate Care to join our team at our client's facility in Springfield, MA.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse to provide exceptional patient care in our Intermediate Care unit. The ideal candidate will have 1-2 years of recent experience as a RN in Medical Intensive Care and possess a strong understanding of critical care principles.

Responsibilities:
  • Evaluate and monitor patient's progress, utilizing exceptional assessment skills to identify sudden or subtle changes in the patient's medical condition.
  • Calculate drug dosage, titrate medication doses, administer continuous medication infusion, and monitor patients for effects of medication.
  • Maintain patient hemodynamic stability with proper nursing interventions as ordered.
  • Work closely and collaborate with physicians and all other healthcare providers to ensure comprehensive patient care.
  • Prepare, administer, and record any additional prescribed medications.
  • Prepare equipment and assist the physician with bedside procedures.
  • Monitor patients before, during, and after invasive procedures.
  • Provide emotional support to acutely ill patients and their families.
  • Recognize signs and symptoms of cardiopulmonary and respiratory emergencies and know how to start standard interventions to stabilize the patient.
  • Record symptoms, reactions, and progress.
  • Develop, plan, implement, evaluate, document, and manage nursing care.
  • Change dressings, insert catheters, start IVs.
  • Record all care information concisely, accurately, and completely, in a timely manner, in the appropriate format and on the appropriate forms.
Requirements:
  • 1-2 years recent working experience as a RN in Medical Intensive Care.
  • ACLS, BLS (AHA only) Required.
  • Current Registered Nurse License.
  • Basic computer proficiency inclusive of ability to access, enter, and interpret computerized data/information.
  • Organizational skills to set priorities and efficiently complete assigned work.
  • Ability to effectively delegate appropriate patient care activities.
