Job Title: Project Civil Engineer

Intertek, a Nationally Recognized Testing Lab (NRTL) and leading provider of quality and safety solutions, is seeking a Project Civil Engineer to join our Professional Services Industries Inc. (Intertek-PSI) team in Charlotte, NC.

About the Role:

The Project Civil Engineer will be responsible for performing and overseeing a variety of engineering assignments, including independent evaluations using standard techniques, procedures, and criteria. The successful candidate will have a Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering from an accredited Engineering/ABET School and 5 or more years of applicable civil/geotechnical engineering experience.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform and oversee a variety of engineering assignments, including independent evaluations using standard techniques, procedures, and criteria.
  • Prepare and review Engineering reports, project plans, and specifications prepared by others.
  • Assign work/tasks to staff and prepare scopes, budgets, and schedules for assignments.
  • Prepare proposals to provide professional services and review recommendations with Principal Consultant.
  • Maintain and leverage client relationships and develop new project opportunities.
  • Communicate effectively with clients and project teams and work on one or multiple projects at a time.
  • Train Technicians and other Technical staff and perform on-site observations, sample collection, and specific tests.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering from an accredited Engineering/ABET School.
  • 5 or more years of applicable civil/geotechnical engineering experience.
  • PE registration required.
  • Ability to communicate and interact effectively in verbal and written communication.
  • Ability to work off shifts and overtime.
  • May travel up to 25% of time.
  • Valid Driver's License and reliable driving record required.
