Key Responsibilities- Assist the Bakery Manager in leading the bakery team to achieve sales and profit goals.
- Support the Bakery Manager in providing coaching, training, and development opportunities to team members.
- Ensure the bakery is always clean, fully stocked, and creatively merchandised.
- Manage inventory, including ordering, receiving, and stocking of merchandise.
- Implement and maintain effective rotation procedures to ensure product dates are properly monitored.
- Ensure compliance with all health regulations, sanitation guidelines, and safety procedures.
- Operate, clean, and maintain all equipment safely and competently.
- Provide exceptional customer service, responding to customer inquiries and resolving complaints in a professional manner.
- Assist with scheduling, training, and development of team members.
- Participate in inventory management, including counting and verifying merchandise against invoices.
- Minimum of 6 months previous experience in a deli, bakery, restaurant, or food service operations position.
- Food handling permit required within the first 14 days of employment.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Ability to lift up to 35 pounds, stand for long periods, and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong verbal and interpersonal skills, with ability to communicate effectively with customers and team members.
The Assistant Bakery Manager will work in a fast-paced bakery environment, with frequent exposure to flour, sugar, and other baking ingredients. The position requires standing for long periods, lifting up to 35 pounds, and working in a cold environment.
