Janitorial Substitute

Rondout Valley Central School District is a dynamic educational community that strives to create an inclusive and welcoming environment for all students. Located in rural New York, our district spans over 150 square miles and consists of five buildings: two elementary schools, one intermediate and junior high school, one high school, and one district office.

We are seeking Custodial Worker Substitutes to join our facilities team. As a Custodial Worker Substitute, you will be responsible for performing building cleaning and minor maintenance tasks. This is a great opportunity for individuals who enjoy working in a fast-paced environment and take pride in maintaining a clean and safe space for students and staff.

• Clean and maintain the interior and exterior of our buildings
• Perform routine cleaning tasks, including emptying trash and recyclables
• Assist with minor maintenance tasks, such as changing light bulbs and unclogging drains

To be successful in this role, you must have:

• A high school diploma or equivalent
• Working knowledge of building cleaning practices, materials, and equipment
• Ability to understand and follow simple oral and written instructions
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Physical condition commensurate with the demands of the position
