Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Housekeeper II to join our team at the Kenneth Moy DuPage Care Center. As a Housekeeper II, you will be responsible for maintaining a clean and safe environment for our residents and staff.

Responsibilities
  • Strip and wax floors using a self-propelled stripping and waxing machine
  • Shampoo carpet using an automated, self-propelled carpet shampooer
  • Sweep, mop, dust, collect, and remove trash bags and recycling bins
  • Interact with residents and assist with moving them and serving their trays
  • Make beds, change linens, clean under beds, and empty dirty utility and linen carts
  • Fill oxygen canisters and distribute oxygen to nursing units
  • Perform resident transportation services using a van with a lift gate
  • Perform exterior snow removal and operate a snow thrower/tractor plow
  • Perform tests on door alarms
  • Move boxes and shipping pallets to storage rooms and move carts of chairs, load/unload carts of chairs, and arrange chairs to set up and break down rooms
Requirements
  • Completion of a High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED)
  • Completion of the Housekeeper II in-service program within the first 90 days of hire
  • Must possess and maintain in good standing a valid Illinois Driver's License

Heavy Work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Use of arm and/or leg controls requires exertion of forces greater than for medium work.

The work environment for this position regularly includes tasks that occur indoors in a temperature-controlled environment, on surfaces such as ceramic tile, vinyl tile, concrete, wood, or commercial carpeting. Employees may occasionally perform functions outdoors on concrete, asphalt, grass, or gravel.
