About the Role

Cleveland Clinic's Fairview Hospital is seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse to join our Surgical Intensive Care Unit (SICU) team. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide exceptional patient care to heart, vascular, trauma, neurology, orthopaedic, pulmonary, and gastrointestinal surgical patients.

Responsibilities
  • Provide direct nursing care to patients in the SICU, including administering medications, treatments, and performing various medical procedures.
  • Implement, monitor, evaluate, update, and revise patient care plans to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
  • Monitor, record, document, and communicate patients' conditions to ensure seamless care coordination.
  • Assess and coordinate patients' discharge needs to ensure a smooth transition to home or further care.
  • Educate patients and their families on disease management, treatment options, and post-discharge care.
Requirements
  • Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing.
  • Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA).
  • One year of current acute care RN experience. Military RN experience will be considered.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
Physical Requirements

This role requires:

  • Full range of body motion, including handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity, and eye-hand coordination.
  • Standing and walking for extended periods.
  • Corrected vision and hearing to normal range.
  • Working under stressful conditions and irregular hours.
  • Exposure to communicable diseases and/or body fluids.
Personal Protective Equipment

Follow standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
