Key Responsibilities- Load Data Acquisition and Quality Assurance: Support pre-deal load data processing for assigned markets, ensuring adherence to service level agreements and quality standards.
- Forecasting Process Optimization: Optimize and refine forecasting processes and platforms to deliver accurate and efficient load forecasts.
- Market Analysis and Understanding: Develop an in-depth understanding of assigned markets, relevant platforms, and the impact of forecasting on stakeholders and company performance.
- Data Acquisition and Automation: Acquire historical load data and utility account details, assisting in data acquisition improvements through automation.
- Account and Usage Data Processing: Set up, evaluate, and process account and usage data using validation and estimation tools per established guidelines.
- Deal Review and Data Integrity: Review completed deals for accuracy and identify potential issues to ensure data integrity.
- Process Documentation and Maintenance: Create and maintain internal documentation for processes and procedures.
- Post-Deal Maintenance: Support post-deal maintenance of customer account attributes and load data.
- Platform and System Testing: Contribute to platform, system, and process testing to enhance forecasting accuracy.
- Compliance and Governance: Ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures.
- Education: Bachelor's degree required, with a strong preference for quantitative fields (Economics, Engineering, Math).
- Experience: Experience in the retail energy industry is preferred.
- Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, strong analytical and statistical skills with experience handling large quantities of electric usage data, and ability to manage multiple assignments with high accuracy and deliver time-sensitive work products.
- Energy Market Fundamentals: Demonstrated understanding of energy market fundamentals, including load properties and deregulated market design.
- Data Visualization and Scripting: Experience using data visualization tools like Power BI or Tableau, and basic or better knowledge of Oracle or Microsoft SQL. Familiarity with scripting languages and statistical packages (Python, SAS, R, or similar) is preferred.
- Work Environment: Ability to work independently in a flexible, hybrid work environment.
