Maintenance Technician II Role

At Builders FirstSource, we are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician II to perform machine setup, troubleshooting, repairs, and preventive maintenance services with average efficiency.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Preventive Maintenance
    • Complete preventive maintenance requirements on engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines.
    • Follow diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications.
    • Troubleshoot malfunctions and identify sources of problems.
  2. Repair and Maintenance
    • Remove defective parts by dismantling devices and using hoists, cranes, and hand and power tools.
    • Inspect used parts and determine changes in dimensional requirements.
    • Adjust functional parts of devices and control instruments.
  3. Inventory Management
    • Check stock to determine inventory level and anticipate needed equipment, parts, and supplies.
    • Place and expedite orders and verify receipt.
  4. Communication and Reporting
    • Inform production workers of routine preventive maintenance techniques.
    • Monitor compliance and provide mechanical maintenance information.
    • Prepare mechanical maintenance reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
  5. Professional Development
    • Maintain technical knowledge by attending educational workshops and reviewing technical publications.
    • Establish personal networks and maintain a safe and clean working environment.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • Certificate from a vocational school in maintenance technology preferred.
  • 5+ years of related experience.
