Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Orthopedic Medical Scribe to support our orthopedic surgeons and enhance patient care efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Accompany orthopedic surgeons during patient consultations and visits to accurately document the encounter in the electronic medical record (EMR) system.
  • Transcribe the details of physical examinations, diagnostic findings, treatment plans, and minor procedures.
  • Assist in documenting patient histories, including injury mechanisms, symptoms, and previous orders for laboratory tests, imaging studies, and medications under the direction of the attending physician.
  • Compile and organize post-operative notes, operative reports, and discharge summaries.
  • Facilitate communication between the orthopedic team, patients, and other healthcare professionals by ensuring timely and accurate documentation.
Requirements:
  • High school degree or GED; at least 6 months of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
  • Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that is above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.
  • Preferred qualifications include a bachelor's degree in a health-related field, previous experience as a medical scribe or in a similar role, excellent typing and computer skills, and proficiency in EMR systems.
