Job Summary:

As a Clinical Mental Health Specialist at Kaiser Permanente, you will provide mental health assessment, diagnosis, and treatment services for adult and child members under the supervision of a licensed Psychologist or board-certified Psychiatrist. You will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized treatment plans, providing psychotherapy, crisis intervention, and education to members and their families.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement clinical treatment programs for members with acute or chronic mental health needs, under the supervision of a licensed Psychologist or board-certified Psychiatrist.
  • Provide outpatient psychotherapy to individuals, couples, families, and groups, utilizing evidence-based practices and techniques.
  • Conduct psychological assessments, including test administration, interpretation, and recommendations, to inform treatment planning.
  • Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to screen and evaluate patients for psychotropic medications, within the scope of practice.
  • Develop and implement behavioral medicine and health psychology programs in various settings, including primary care.

Requirements:

  • PhD/PsyD/EdD in Clinical, Counseling, Health, or School Psychology from an accredited college or university.
  • Psychologist License (California) within 24 months of hire.
  • Psychological Assistant Registration (California) required at hire.
  • Experience in assessing, diagnosing, and treating a broad range of psychiatric conditions.
  • Knowledge of Evidence-Based Practice and psychotherapy research methods.
  • Ability to work in a Labor/Management Partnership.
