Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Speech Language Pathologist to join our team at MJ Care Inc. as a School-Based Speech Language Pathologist. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing direct and consultative services to children with exceptional educational needs and to educational staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a school-based speech-language pathology program to support children with exceptional educational needs.
  • Conduct evaluations, interpret findings, and prepare written reports to inform IEP development and progress monitoring.
  • Collaborate with IEP teams to develop educationally appropriate speech-language therapy goals and objectives.
  • Provide direct and indirect speech-language pathology services to children in educational environments.
  • Travel to and among schools to provide services to children.
  • Maintain accurate records, including daily documentation, Medicaid billing logs, IEPs, and progress reports.
  • Adhere to established federal, state, and local rules, regulations, and laws related to speech-language pathology services in schools.
Requirements
  • Master's Degree in Speech Language Pathology from a school accredited by the American Speech Language Hearing Association.
  • Current Department of Public Instruction license in good standing required for Wisconsin positions.
  • Current Illinois State Board of Education license in good standing required for Illinois positions.
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence is required for SLPs in a mentor role and is highly recommended for school-based assignments.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 1+ year of experience in school-based speech-language pathology.
  • Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office and billing software.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
Working Conditions

The Speech Language Pathologist will work in a school setting, interacting with children, educators, and other professionals. The position requires the ability to lift and/or carry up to 50lbs, walk up/down stairs, and use fine dexterity. Specific vision and hearing abilities are required to perform the duties of the job.
