Key Responsibilities- Plan, organize, and direct medically approved recreation programs, including activities such as sports, dramatics, games, and arts and crafts.
- Assist patients in developing interpersonal relationships, socializing effectively, and building confidence to participate in group activities.
- Regulate the content of programs according to patients' capabilities, needs, interests, and treatment plans.
- Education: Bachelor's degree from an accredited institute in Recreational Therapy, Music Therapy, Art Therapy, or a similar field, and/or relevant licensure or certification per state of practice guidelines.
- Experience: Previous experience in a psychiatric healthcare facility, with direct experience working with chemical dependency, dual diagnosis, psychiatric, and geriatric patients preferred.
- License: Current unencumbered certification/license/registration required.
- Additional Requirements: CPR certification and Crisis Prevention Training (CPI) within 30 days, and may be required to work flexible hours and overtime.
