Waste Collection CDL Operator

Position Overview:
The Waste Collection CDL Operator is tasked with the secure and effective operation of various waste collection vehicles, including rear load, front load, side load, and roll-off trucks, ensuring timely and courteous waste disposal services for clients along specified routes.
This role involves safely navigating the assigned vehicle through residential and commercial areas, managing high traffic zones, driveways, alleyways, and parking lots while delivering outstanding customer service.
Compensation:
Starting at $23 per hour, with potential for higher pay based on experience.
Operators at Casella are eligible for a Career Pathways Program, which provides excellent opportunities for advancement, regular merit increases, and safety bonus incentives.
Primary Duties:
Conducts pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the assigned vehicle in compliance with Casella's safety protocols and applicable state and federal regulations; ensures the truck's appearance meets company standards.
Demonstrates commitment to the safe operation of waste collection vehicles on streets, highways, customer locations, and construction sites.
Delivers a superior level of service through polite interactions with all clients and ensures timely service delivery.
Maintains a positive attitude towards company objectives, customer satisfaction, and community goals.
Completes all required company and federally mandated documentation accurately.
Empties all waste receptacles and cleans areas around any accidental waste spills.
Completes the assigned route sheet for one Line of Business (LOB).
Participates in all scheduled training sessions and meetings as required by Casella or management.
Reports any service disruptions, incidents, accidents, property damage, or unsafe conditions to Dispatch; remains observant and aware of surroundings at all times.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will possess a High School Diploma or GED, be at least 18 years old, hold a valid Class A or B CDL License, and be legally authorized to work in the United States.
Physical capability to handle objects weighing over 75lbs frequently throughout the day and work in various weather conditions is essential.
This position requires successful completion of pre-employment assessments, including a drug screening.Desired Attributes:
