Position Overview:
The Advanced Emergency Medical Technician (AEMT) plays a crucial role in delivering both urgent and non-urgent pre-hospital care to patients. This position requires adherence to established policies, procedures, and medical protocols while operating within the scope of your training. The AEMT must demonstrate professional judgment and discretion in compliance with state and regulatory guidelines.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Respond to emergency and non-emergency service requests as dispatched, ensuring effective care for patients.
  • Conduct assessments in accordance with training and medical protocols to determine appropriate treatment and transport methods.
  • Safely operate the ambulance, adhering to traffic regulations to ensure the safety of all occupants and the public.
  • Complete all necessary documentation, including patient care reports and daily checklists, in line with established practices.
  • Follow all safety protocols and infection control standards to maintain a secure work environment.
  • Collaborate with higher-trained personnel to deliver comprehensive care.
  • Exhibit exceptional customer service skills towards patients, families, and other emergency response personnel.
  • Engage in community service initiatives as directed by leadership.

Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Certification as an Advanced Emergency Medical Technician in the state.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Completion of NIMS 700, 800, ICS 100, and 200 within 90 days of hire.
