Continental Tide Defense Systems, Inc. is seeking an experienced and skilled Welder II to join our Fleet Services Group. The successful candidate will perform various ship repair, modernization, and Alteration Installation Team (AIT) projects.
Key Responsibilities- Knowledgeable in joining, fabricating, and repairing metal and other weldable material by applying appropriate welding techniques.
- Perform various welding processes to repair, modify, and install various pipes, structures, foundations, and fittings associated with shipboard hydraulic, pneumatic, and water systems.
- Fabricate and install fixtures and jigs required for welding process alignments.
- Inspect completed welds to determine structural soundness and adherence to NAVSEA, ABS, and AWS standards.
- Install or repair equipment, such as pipes, valves, floors, and tank linings.
- Must possess a high school, trade, or vocational school degree.
- 5-10 years of direct experience in ship repair and installation of HM&E systems and equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret ship installation drawings, installation specifications, and NAVSEA Standard Items.
- Must have or have the ability to obtain a SECRET clearance.
- Must have the ability to obtain base access and security credentials.
- Ability to lift, carry, and transport heavy equipment and boxes.
- Ability to work on and climb ladders, work in extreme temperature environments, aboard ships, in shipyards, under industrial conditions, and in confined spaces.
