Job Summary:

Wright Tree Service is seeking a skilled Groundworker to join our team. As a Groundworker, you will be responsible for performing various tasks related to tree care and maintenance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Tree Care and Maintenance: Use a chainsaw to cut brush, logs, and stumps of larger trees. Work from the ground using gasoline-powered chainsaws.

  • Equipment Operation: Load and unload trucks with logs, stumps, brush, and debris, and/or feed brush into a wood chipper. Gather brush and carry it to the chipper area.

  • Safety and Risk Management: Work around hazardous equipment, excessive noise from machines, chainsaws, and wood chippers, and wear proper personal protective equipment.

  • Environmental Awareness: Be exposed to all temperatures and weather conditions, and be aware of nature, irritating plants, biting or stinging insects, dust, etc.

  • Physical Demands: Lift, move, and maneuver up to 50 pounds on an infrequent basis and up to 30 pounds on a frequent basis.

  • Communication and Teamwork: Communicate with others, represent Wright Tree Service in a professional manner, and enforce on-the-job safety practices for crew members.

  • Equipment Maintenance: Service trucks, chippers, and equipment, maintaining them in a neat, clean, and specified mechanical order.

  • Other Duties: Perform other related duties as required or assigned.

Requirements:

  • Personal Protective Equipment: Must be able to wear necessary personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.

  • Physical Abilities: Must be able to enter and exit a vehicle numerous times per day, withstand exposure to all kinds of weather, and lift, move, and maneuver up to 50 pounds on an infrequent basis and up to 30 pounds on a frequent basis.

  • Communication Skills: Must be able to write, read, and comprehend written and verbal job instructions/information.

  • Driver's License: Must have a valid driver's license and be able to pass a pre-employment drug test.

  • Certifications and Licenses: Maintain a herbicide applicator or operator's certification and license as required by Wright Tree Service and local, state, and federal law.

  • First Aid and CPR: Must have valid First-Aid and CPR cards.
