The Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner (CRNP) is a certified medical professional who provides medical services under the direction of a supervising physician. This role requires a strong foundation in patient care, medical screenings, and health assessments.
Responsibilities- Conduct patient medical screenings to determine medical attention
- Review patient medical records to determine health status
- Obtain patient medical history and perform history and physical examinations
- Provide medical services under the direction of a supervising physician
To perform this job successfully, an individual must demonstrate competency in the following criteria:
- Certification as a NP by the American Nurse's Credentialing Center
- 2 years relevant clinical experience in a medical setting
- Previous experience with behavioral health patients highly preferred
The CRNP must possess a strong educational background and relevant clinical experience. A Certified NP in the State of Pennsylvania with 2 years relevant clinical experience in a medical setting is required.
Knowledge and SkillsThe CRNP must possess relevant clinical knowledge of the medical and psychiatric needs of all age groups, including age-specific growth and development, limit setting, behavior management, and CPR training.
Work EnvironmentThe CRNP works in a behavioral health hospital environment, exposing them to psychiatric patients who may exhibit unpredictable and impulsive behavior. The role requires the ability to communicate verbally and in writing, as well as physical agility to manage patients.
Physical RequirementsThe CRNP must be able to push, pull, and lift up to 40 pounds, and must be able to sit, stand, walk, bend, and stoop intermittently. The role requires a drug and alcohol-free environment, as evidenced by negative results of a post-offer, pre-employment urine drug screen.
Job ClassificationThis is an exempt position, with work hours varying based on patient volume and including day, evening, night, weekend, and holiday shifts.
