Transmission Line Specialist

Xcel Energy seeks a skilled Transmission Journeyman Lineman to join our team in Eau Claire, WI.

We anticipate the need for one or more Transmission Journeyman Linemen at our Black Avenue Service Center. The anticipated starting base pay for this position is $55.45 per hour.

The primary responsibilities of this role include installation, maintenance and removal of overhead transmission conductors and equipment. This will involve climbing poles, working on energized conductors and equipment, performing hot stick work on energized high voltage conductors, working in inclement weather, being available for callout work, and other tasks outlined in the lineman position.

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Must be qualified as a Journeyman Lineman with a working knowledge of all phases of Distribution and Transmission Construction, Maintenance and Operating.
• Good communication and teamwork skills are required.
• Participation in after-hour emergency callouts in all kinds of weather conditions is necessary.
• Experience with bucket trucks, digger derricks, trenchers, and groundwork with utility line crews is essential.
• Commitment to working safely and compliance with all company safety rules is mandatory.
• Adequate physical stature to perform routine physical labor associated with line work, including lifting, climbing, working in confined spaces, and operating equipment is required.
• Willingness to travel and work away from home.
• Meeting driver qualification requirements as specified in FMCSR parts 382 and 391, including possession of a valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A.
