We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Pharmacy Intern to join our team at Yale New Haven Health. Key Responsibilities- Drug Distribution and Inventory Management: Assist in the processing, production, and distribution of pharmaceuticals and related products, ensuring accurate and timely delivery to patient care units.
- Clinical and Administrative Support: Participate in clinical and administrative functions under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist, augmenting your education and gaining practical experience in your future roles as pharmacists.
- Quality Assurance and Improvement: Identify and participate in ongoing quality assurance and improvement processes to ensure appropriate medication storage, inventory levels, quality testing of sterile products, aseptic technique certification, and operational efficiencies.
- Education and Training: Participate in educational activities within the Pharmacy Department, including journal club, clinical case conferences, patient case presentations, and disease state discussions.
- Clinical Area Rotation: Rotate through various clinical areas, shadowing clinical specialists and performing daily activities under direct pharmacist supervision.
- Education: Currently enrolled in an accredited College of Pharmacy program or pre-pharmacy program.
- Experience: Inpatient hospital pharmacy experience is preferred but not required.
- Licensure: Current registration or eligibility to be registered as a Pharmacy Intern in the State of Connecticut as outlined by the Dept. of Consumer Protection.
- Skills: Proficiency in mathematical calculations, accuracy, problem-solving, attention to detail, knowledge of computer applications, and ability to learn quickly in a fast-paced environment.
As a Pharmacy Intern at Yale New Haven Health, you will have the opportunity to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, collaborating with a team of dedicated professionals to provide exceptional patient care. You will be exposed to various clinical areas and will have the chance to develop your skills and knowledge in a supportive and learning-oriented environment.
