Position Overview
The U.S. Army is seeking dedicated individuals to serve as Clinical Laboratory Technicians. This role involves conducting vital tests on patient samples, including tissue, blood, and other bodily fluids.

Key Responsibilities
  • Execute fundamental blood banking and clinical laboratory tasks across various disciplines such as hematology, immunohematology, clinical chemistry, serology, bacteriology, parasitology, and urinalysis.
  • Collect blood samples through venipuncture and capillary puncture techniques.
  • Manage the packing, unpacking, inspection, storage, and distribution of blood and blood products.
  • Assemble, disassemble, and maintain laboratory instruments and equipment.

Training Requirements
To become a Clinical Laboratory Technician, candidates must complete 10 weeks of Basic Combat Training followed by 52 weeks of Advanced Individual Training, which includes hands-on experience with specimen testing.

Skills Acquired
  • Proficiency in medical laboratory techniques.
  • Understanding of human parasites and diseases.
  • Laboratory management and documentation practices.

Essential Skills
  • Genuine interest in biology, chemistry, and mathematics.
  • Ability to adhere to detailed protocols accurately.
