About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Software Engineer (Back-End) to join our team at Raft. As a key member of our software development team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining complex software systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop high-quality software systems using a variety of programming languages and technologies.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize project requirements.
  • Develop and maintain software documentation to ensure clarity and consistency.
  • Participate in code reviews and provide feedback to improve code quality.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies to ensure our software systems remain competitive.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • 10+ years of experience as a software engineer.
  • Proficiency in multiple programming languages, including C, C++, Java, JavaScript, Python, and React/Angular.
  • Strong experience in Big Data/Cloud/Enterprise Frameworks.
  • Experience in creating robust web-socket and RESTFul APIs.
  • Deep knowledge of software design and architecture patterns.
  • Proficiency in cloud technologies like AWS, Azure, and Kubernetes.
  • A strong collaborator who can work well with a diverse team.
  • Able to mentor junior engineers.
  • Demonstrated working knowledge & experience in the following areas: Apache Spark, Kubernetes, Kafka, SIMP Project, Ansible, Docker, GIT, Linux, Suricata, Zeek, Kibana, Logstash, Elastic Search, Neo4J, PostgreSQL, Terraform, Artifactory, GitLab, network engineering, AWS Cloud, agile software development, agile methodologies, agile project management, software project management, defensive cyber military operations, software development life cycle management, program/project management, systems engineering, strategic planning, cross-functional team.
  • Able to obtain a Security+ certification within 90 days of employment with Raft.
  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Physics, Mathematics or a related field.

Preferred Qualifications

Hands on experience with time-series data in PostgreSQL or another SQL flavored database.

Certifications

SAFe for Teams Certification, & AWS certifications (Associate Solutions Architect, & AWS Specialty Security within a year of start date) or be able to demonstrate AWS competence using the CLI and Boto.

Clearance Requirements

Active Secret security clearance.

Work Type

Hybrid - Colorado Springs, CO.

May require up to 10% travel.

Salary Range

$110,000 - $200,000.

The determination of compensation is predicated upon a candidate's comprehensive experience, demonstrated skill, and proven abilities.
