Job Summary

We are seeking an Operating Engineer to operate various pieces of machinery and equipment on our construction job sites. The successful candidate will prepare the site, assist with other duties, and supervise a crew of operating engineers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Heavy Equipment Operation: Operate dozers, rollers, scrapers, forklifts, and other heavy equipment.
  • Crane Operation: Run cranes and ensure all safety procedures are followed.
  • Heavy Duty Repair: Maintain and repair heavy equipment of all types.
  • Plant Equipment Operation: Operate portable rock plants, maintain and repair the plant, and run various types of equipment to support plant operations.
  • Asphalt/Rock/Sand/Gravel Plants: Perform part maintenance, requiring skills in electrical systems, welding, and conveyor belt repair, and operate support equipment such as loaders, dozers, excavators, skid-steers, and forklifts.
  • Construction/Building/Soils/Materials Inspection: Perform inspections and testing for reinforced concrete, soils, structural masonry, prestressed concrete, structural steel, and welding.
  • Dredge Operation: Use a dredge to excavate waterways.
  • Surveying: Layout high-rise buildings, roads, and freeways, residential developments, dams, waterways, pipelines, airports, tunnels, commercial and industrial developments. Perform specialized work, including boundaries, ALTA/ACSM Land Title Surveys, Deformation Surveys, and Hydrographic Surveys.
  • Concrete Pump Operation: Run and operate truck-mounted boom pumps, line pumps, and separate placing booms, controlling the operation of the pump and the output of concrete by directing the boom.

The Operating Engineer Foreman will supervise, coordinate, and schedule a crew of operating engineers.
