Seeking a skilled Executive Chef to join our team at Sea Mar Community Health Centers. This role will involve preparing meals for residents and children, as well as assisting with food preparation for special functions.
About the JobThe ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years' experience cooking in an institutional setting, preferably with supervisory experience. A high school diploma or GED is preferred, along with training in food safety and sanitation. A Food Handlers Permit is also required.
We are looking for someone who can demonstrate skills in preparation of traditional ethnic Hispanic foods and possess strong organizational and team building skills. Bi-lingual/bi-cultural candidates are preferred.
Responsibilities- Prepare meals according to menus and standardized recipes provided
- Receive, unpack, and inventory food deliveries
- Store raw/uncooked foods according to sanitary temperature policy and procedure
- Assist in development and implementation of standardized recipes and menus for regular and therapeutic diets
- Prepare foods/meals for special functions/catering as requested by the Food Services Director
- Oversee storage of cooked foods, ensuring proper labeling, dating, and rotation
- Provide support to Dietary Aides on tray lines and resident floors as needed
- Maintain standards of safety and sanitation at all times
- Attend required in-service training sessions and investigate ways to upgrade professional skills
- Participate in/attend Sea-Mar/community events
- Minimum 2 years' experience cooking in an institutional setting
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Training in food safety and sanitation required
- Food Handlers Permit
