Electrical Engineer

We are seeking an Electrical Engineer to join our team in Holtsville, NY or Germantown, MD. As an Electrical Engineer, you will bring your designs from concept to production, shaping the future of our cutting-edge products. You will utilize your experience with embedded microprocessors, microcontroller-based systems, and high-speed printed circuit design in a meaningful way.

• Establishes requirements for highly complex electrical design projects and may lead a team responsible for establishing requirements.
• Architects and designs highly complex electrical projects, completing all phases of the projects and following through on all in-process and final inspection activities.
• Develops and applies technical and quality improvements.
• Creates new programs, technologies, and solutions based on novel or unique ideas, ensuring new ideas and methodologies are documented for use by hardware teams.
• Uses status as a knowledge leader in hardware design and functional knowledge across multiple engineering disciplines and program management to provide technical leadership to a given program.
• Defines requirements for and may design complex new tools to aid in the analysis and solving of complex problems.
• Initiates cross-company collaboration and develops positive relationships with other engineering disciplines.
• Exercises judgment in selecting methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for obtaining results.
• May coordinate the activities of other personnel.
• Networks with key contacts outside own area of expertise.
• Interacts with management and senior customer personnel on matters requiring coordination across organizational lines.
• Represents the organization as the principal customer contact and often performs project leadership.

• Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • 5+ years of relevant experience.
  • Experience in embedded system design & development.
  • Experienced in DSP/ARM processor code development, integration, and testing.
  • Skilled in C, C++, and python.
  • Experience in design of digital and analog systems and various other products.
  • Strong hardware and system knowledge.
  • Basic knowledge in RF, test bench setup.
• Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree preferred.
  • Proven record of successful project contributions.
  • Strong participation in architecture and platform development.
  • Manufacturing and cross-functional team interaction and support for project completion.
  • Regulatory testing for non-RF requirements, debug, and standards support.
  • Basic knowledge in wireless communications.
  • Strong hardware and system knowledge.
  • Strong team player and communicator.
  • Broad knowledge of modern digital systems.
  • Experience with the constraints imposed by battery-operated systems.
  • Experience with a variety of common digital interfaces at the PHY level, including RS232, USB, I2C, SPI, Ethernet, SDIO, etc.
  • Expert in the use of test equipment, such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, etc.
  • Working knowledge of PCB schematic capture - Cadence knowledge is a plus.
  • Research and Development experience.
  • Publications, patents.

Salary offered will vary depending on your location, job-related skills, knowledge, and experience.
