Job Description

We are looking for candidates to participate in our Sleep Technologist training program, which may lead to future employment opportunities at Emory Healthcare. Successful candidates will gain expertise in the safe operation of polysomnographic recording devices utilized for assessing sleep/wake disorders. Responsibilities include applying and removing electrodes and other related equipment, such as EEG, EKG, EMG, EOG, airflow, CO2 measurement, and oximetry, while ensuring patient safety and comfort.

As a Sleep Technologist, you will be responsible for:

  • Cleaning and disinfecting equipment used directly on patients.
  • Monitoring sleep recordings and patient positioning during assessments.
  • Identifying sleep disorders and abnormalities.
  • Reviewing patient medical histories and confirming physician directives.
  • Conducting patient interviews to evaluate sleep habits, medication use, and substance intake prior to testing.
  • Providing education to patients regarding the procedures and expectations.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred, along with one year of relevant experience.
  • A current Healthcare BLS certification is mandatory.
  • Must achieve a Registered Polysomnographic Sleep Technologist Registry within a specified timeframe post-employment.
  • Failure to obtain registration within the designated period may result in termination.
