Qualifications
  • Education: High School Diploma or GED is required. Must be enrolled in an accredited Respiratory Care Associate Degree program recognized by the Commission on Accreditation for Respiratory Care, maintaining a minimum GPA of 2.0.
  • Experience: Completion of the first year of the Respiratory Care Associate Degree Program is required. Competencies must be validated by the educational institution in accordance with the revised declaratory ruling by the North Carolina Respiratory Care Board.
  • Licensure/Certification: Registration as a Respiratory Care Assistant with the NC Respiratory Care Board is mandatory. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certifications are preferred.
