Job Summary

We are seeking a reliable and safety-conscious Van Driver to transport students over specified routes according to a time schedule. The ideal candidate will have a valid driver's license, a clean driving record, and the ability to pass a physical examination, including a drug test.

Key Responsibilities
  • Drive a van safely and professionally, adhering to state and local traffic regulations.
  • Perform daily pre-trip inspections and report any vehicle defects to the supervisor.
  • Use established routes and designated stops, and maintain a clean and organized vehicle.
  • Notify the supervisor of any accidents or student injuries.
  • Comply with all traffic ordinances and discipline policies set forth in the School Code of Conduct for Transportation.
  • Participate in on-site training and demonstrate proficiency in handling and maneuvering a van.
  • Establish favorable working relationships with co-workers, parents, students, and local district staff.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
  • Ability to pass a physical examination, including a drug test.
  • Ability to obtain a Chauffeur's License.
  • Meet state requirements for appropriate licensing and physical examination.
Working Conditions

The employee will frequently bend or twist at the neck and trunk while performing the duties of this job. The employee will frequently repeat the same hand, arm, or finger motion many times. The employee will frequently use hand strength to grasp tools and will continuously drive on the job. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and individually push or pull up to 100 pounds, such as students.

Salary and Schedule
  • $21.49 per hour.
  • Monday - Friday.
  • 40 hours per week.
