Job Summary

The Shop Technician Assistant plays a vital role in supporting the Shop Technician in performing technical work in the shop. This part-time position requires a strong understanding of mechanical repair methods and processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the Shop Technician in performing mechanical services on new and used equipment in the shop.
  • Maintain company-issued tools and equipment, adhering to strict safety protocols.
  • Complete accurate and efficient reporting for service time, including writing service reports and tracking parts charged and returned.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction by understanding customer needs and deadlines, completing scheduled repairs and services safely, timely, and accurately.
  • Follow strict safety procedures, using proper PPE as required.

Requirements

  • High school education or equivalent.
  • 1-3 years of mechanical experience preferred.
  • Understanding of work area metrics and ability to improve metrics and results.
  • Knowledge of mechanical repair methods and processes.
  • Ability to operate industry-specific PC and mainframe programs, with a basic understanding of MS Word, Excel, and database systems.
  • Ability to work overtime and weekends.
