Local NC Company Driver Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Local NC Company Driver to join our team at Empire National Inc.

About the Role:

  • This position involves operating a dry van and reefer trailer on local routes within North Carolina.
  • You will be responsible for performing routine inspections on vehicles to ensure they are in good working condition, adhering to all traffic laws and regulations while operating vehicles, and maintaining accurate records of deliveries, mileage, and log books.
  • Effective communication with dispatchers or supervisors is essential to report any issues or delays in delivery.

Requirements:

  • A valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) and a current medical card are mandatory.
  • Experience with electronic equipment and software, such as GPS, ELD units, and tablets, is required.
  • Candidates must be at least 23 years old and have an acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) with no DUI convictions in the last five years.
  • A minimum of two years of experience in commercial driving is necessary.

Benefits:

  • An estimated weekly salary of $1,250 based on 75 cents per mile and a minimum guarantee of $1,000 per week.
  • Sign-on bonuses of $2,500, annual bonuses, and transparent weekly payments via ACH/Wire transfer.
  • Independent contractor status with a 1099 tax classification.
  • 24/7 support from dispatch and safety teams.
