Science Teacher

Meskwaki Settlement School is seeking a dedicated and passionate Teacher, K-12 to join our team. As a key member of our educational community, you will play a vital role in shaping the minds of our students and helping them achieve their full potential.

We are looking for a qualified and experienced Teacher, K-12 to teach grades 6-8 Science. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and organizing engaging lesson plans, assessing student progress, and maintaining a positive and inclusive classroom environment.

• Plan and deliver high-quality lesson plans that cater to the diverse needs of students.
• Assess student progress and adjust teaching strategies accordingly.
• Maintain a safe and respectful classroom environment that promotes student engagement and motivation.
• Collaborate with colleagues and administration to develop and implement effective educational programs.
• Communicate regularly with parents and guardians to keep them informed about student progress.
• Administer discipline in accordance with school policies and procedures.
• Attend staff meetings and participate in professional development opportunities.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Principal.

• Bachelor's Degree and Certification required by the Bureau of Indian Education and the State of Iowa.
• Pass a background check per Public Law, Public Law, and the Indian Child Protection and Family Violence Prevention Act.
• Pass a pre-employment drug screening.

The successful candidate will be required to work in a fast-paced educational environment with a diverse group of students, colleagues, and parents. The ideal candidate will be able to work independently and as part of a team, and will be committed to providing high-quality education to our students.

The minimum annual salary is approximately $44, Candidates will be placed on a salary schedule in accordance with education and experience.
