About the Role:

  • As a Behavioral Health Technician, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and well-being of our patients.
  • You will work closely with our registered nurses to monitor patient safety, observe behaviors, and identify risk factors.
  • In the event of an acute episode, you will respond promptly and professionally, de-escalating the situation while maintaining a therapeutic atmosphere.

Your Key Responsibilities:

  1. Monitor and maintain patient safety by observing behaviors and conditions according to established procedures.
  2. Conduct regular environmental checks to identify potential risk factors with the Registered Nurse.
  3. Aid in implementing safety measures, such as physical restraints and observation levels, as directed.
  4. Respond to acute behavioral episodes in a supportive manner, prioritizing patient care and dignity.
  5. Collaborate with healthcare professionals to prevent elopement and ensure a safe environment for all patients.
  6. Perform vital signs and assist with Activities of Daily Living as directed by the Registered Nurse.
  7. Document patient care and administrative tasks accurately and efficiently.
  8. Assist practitioners performing medical procedures under the supervision of the Registered Nurse.

About You:

  • You hold a High School Diploma or GED, with an Associate's Degree preferred.
  • You have Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within three months of hire.
  • You are willing to complete Welle De-escalation training within six months of hire.
  • Prior experience in a behavioral health or educational setting is a plus.
