Responsibilities:
  • Provide routine daily nursing care and services to residents, including bathing, dressing, and grooming.
  • Assist residents with daily functions, such as dental and mouth care, bath functions, combing of hair, dressing and undressing as necessary.
  • Transport residents to new rooms or to the receiving area, and assist with loading/unloading residents' to/from vehicles as necessary.
  • Participate in and receive the nursing report upon reporting for duty, and perform all assigned tasks in accordance with our established policies and procedures.
  • Report all changes in the resident's condition to the Nurse Supervisor/Charge Nurse as soon as practical, and record all entries on flow sheets, notes, charts, etc., in an informative, descriptive manner.
  • Ensure that residents who are unable to call for help are checked frequently, and answer resident calls promptly.
  • Keep residents' water pitchers clean and filled with fresh water (on each shift), and within easy reach of the resident.
  • Perform after meal care (i.e., remove trays, clean resident's hands, face, clothing, etc.), and record the resident's food/fluid intake.
  • Report all accidents and incidents you observe on the shift that they occur, and report occupational exposures to blood, body fluids, infectious materials, and hazardous chemicals in accordance with the facility's policies and procedures governing accidents and incidents.
Requirements:
  • Must possess, as a minimum, an 10th grade education.
  • Must be a licensed Certified Nursing Assistant in accordance with laws of the state.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers and employees.
