Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Bilingual Speech-Language Pathologist to join our team at Northwell Health. As a Speech-Language Pathologist, you will be responsible for providing speech and language assessment and therapy to students in a community services non-profit organization serving people with developmental disabilities.

Responsibilities:

  • Assessment and Evaluation: Conduct speech and language assessments to determine students' developmental levels and needs, analyzing test results and preparing written summaries for regulatory agencies.
  • Therapy and Intervention: Plan and conduct speech and language interventions in accordance with established goals, implementing testing procedures to evaluate and monitor student progress.
  • Progress Monitoring: Maintain daily and monthly attendance records and progress notes, providing therapy progress reports to parents/guardians and team members.
  • Communication: Meet and communicate with parents/guardians regularly in writing or verbally, participating in Initial Evaluation and Intake processes.
  • Additional Responsibilities: Perform other related duties as requested.

Requirements:

  • Education: Master's Degree in Speech and Language Pathology
  • Language Skills: Bi-lingual (English/Spanish)
  • Experience: One year of prior Speech Therapy experience preferred
  • Licenses and Certifications: Current NY State license in Speech and Language Pathology, ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competency, NYSED Certification as a Teacher of Speech and Hard of hearing (TSHH), and NYSED TSSH Certification with Bilingual Extension
